Saint-Julien
Only wines harvested in the town of Saint-Julien and a few named others in the towns of Cussac and Saint-Laurent are entitled to the ‘Saint-Julien’ designation.
This 900-hectares prestigious area only posesses 11 classified Grands Crus that represent 86% of the town’s surface area…The average cut-off yield is 6600 liters per hectare, and it varies every year.
Château Ducru-Beaucaillou, Château Gruaud-Larose, Château Léoville-Barton, Château Léoville Las cases, Château Léoville Poyferré, Château Lagrange, Château Langoa Barton, Château Beychevelle, Château Branaire-Ducru, Chateau Saint-Pierre and Château Talbot.
The Saint-Julien wines are of an outstanding colour, very well built with a great sap. Their bouquet is very singular : smooth, harmonious and very fine.
Gourmets love to keep them in cellar only to bring them back later and open up their magnificence.
