Château Marquis d'Alesme

It is in the archives of 1585 that we discover the birth of this vineyard of Margaux whose cru Margaux was registered in 1616. It is classified 3rd Grand Cru according to the prestigious list of 1855.

It is a vineyard that covers about 20 ha with an average age of the vines of 35 years.

It rests on silico-gravelly soil and subsoil.

Varietal composition: black Merlot 45%, Cabernet Sauvignon 30%, Cabernet Franc 15% and Petit Verdot 10%

All the grapes are harvested by hand, with sorting at the winery. The production is around 100 to 110,000 bottles depending on the year for an average yield of 5400 bottles per hectare.

The wine is aged in new barrels in a proportion of 33% for 12 months following the harvest.
